Be an ALA Ambassador

Want to serve your chapter and save yourself $150 when you participate in the Cabo Leadership Experience?  Be an ALA Ambassador and work with us to get you and your brothers to Cabo!

ALA has created a student liaison role within fraternity chapters that wish to attend – the ALA Ambassador.  One student per chapter would assume the responsibility to promote and organize attendance within his group, including:

  1. Receive information and resources from ALA.
  2. Read and be knowledgeable of the Ambassador Guide.
  3. Present information on the program at a chapter meeting/dinner to all the organization’s members.
  4. Coordinate the reservations process, to identify interest and secure seats for the group.
  5. Continue to present at chapter meetings at least twice a month, updates on ALA and the CLE program.
  6. Follow up with all approved attendees to make sure they are securing a Passport and following through with the purchase of airfare, and completing the registration process.  Ambassadors should insure five (5) or more attendees from the chapter.
  7. Stay in touch with ALA to report on progress and to request any assistance needed.
  8. Meet with all attendees at least a week before their trip to go over planning, the travel schedule, and to prepare the attendees to get the most from the session (ALA will provide materials/outline).
  9. Serve as primary contact for the group during the ALA session.
  10. Meet with all attendees shortly after returning from the session, to document the experience and provide a report to the chapter/advisors.

In addition, Ambassadors provide the ALA individual emails or a group email address, so that information on the programs can be sent to all group members.  This insures anyone who may be interested will hear about the program and have links to our materials.

Those who serve as Ambassadors will receive a waiver on their registration fee – a savings of up to $150. This is an excellent position for those who attended a previous Cabo session and want to return, since they have had the program experience.

A brief application has been created for those who are interested to serve – one student per chapter please.  Simply complete the application and submit via email to ALA.  Even better, make this an annual position within your chapter, so we have an Ambassador every year!
